Bosque del Oso - In 1998 the Elk Foundation and
the Colorado Division of Wildlife purchased 30,000 acres west of Trinidad, Colorado, and established the Bosque del Oso State Wildlife Area.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison - Since 1991, the Elk Foundation has funded more than 20 projects
to improve habitat for elk and other wildlife across more than 3.1 million acres the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison national forests that ring the Black Canyon of the Gunnison
national park.
